The Ruyi Jingu Bang is the mythical, shape-shifting staff wielded by Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, in the Chinese epic Journey to the West. Originally a massive iron pillar used to measure the depth of the sea, it was gifted to Sun Wukong by the Dragon King of the East Sea.
